THE QUEEN OF WELSH RESORTS

Introducing Llandudno.

The Victorians and Edwardians loved to visit Llandudno, they called it the Queen of the Welsh Resorts, and graced it with some of the most elegant seaside architecture in Britain.

Llandudno's immaculate seafront, gracefully framed by two headlands, is a seaside classic. It’s a proper resort, with a pier, Punch and Judy and Donkey Man and even Alice in Wonderland.

Plus arty and other modern attractions that add the perfect contemporary touch.

The next day of our stay sees us head to Portmeirion, stunningly set in sub-tropical gardens, Portmeirion was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams Ellis who wanted to show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it. Endangered buildings and unwanted artefacts from all over the globe were transported and rebuilt to create a nest of loggias, grand porticoes and tiny terracotta-roofed houses, painted in bright colours.
